Does it work?
No idea. The practitioners say the effect starts in about a week. What we can promise is that a woman in her seventies will hit a piece of paper with a shoe on your behalf, and you will have the footage.
Why first names only?
Because a video naming a real, identifiable person is a weapon, and we're not making one. Auntie refuses politicians for her own reasons; we refuse full names for ours.
Can I be there instead?
Yes, and you should. It's HK$50 at the stall, cash, no appointment. Canal Road Flyover, between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai MTR. We exist for the people who can't get here.
Who gets the money?
The practitioner is paid her full rate for every ritual, before we take anything.
What exactly arrives in my inbox?
Three files: the full ritual, uncut, 8 to 12 minutes. A 30-second vertical cut, captioned, ready to post. And a photograph of the ashes in the bucket, taken before they are swept away.
How long does it take?
Orders are batched into one or two filming sessions a week. Your ritual is filmed within 6 days of your order, and the video reaches your email within 72 hours of filming. If we cannot film within 6 days, you are refunded in full.
What if the practitioner isn't at the bridge that week?
You are refunded, not rescheduled. We would rather return your money than sit on it while you wait.
Can I order one for someone else?
Yes. Use the gift page, add a note, and we include it with the delivery email. You receive the files and pass them on, so the surprise stays yours to time.
What should I write in the grievance line?
One line, plain words. She reads it out loud at the stall, so write it the way you would say it. "Took credit for my work again" carries fine.
What happens if the moon blocks say no?
The practitioner rethrows them, as the practice requires, until the petition is accepted. Every throw stays in the footage. We do not cut around a bad one.
Can I post the video?
Yes. The 30-second cut exists for exactly that. Since the slip carries a first name only, nobody in it is identifiable, which is the point.
Is this a real curse? Should I feel bad?
It is a folk ritual that Hong Kong listed as intangible cultural heritage in 2014, and it ends in a blessing and a request for allies, not just the shoe. We sell catharsis with a camera on it. Nothing here identifies anyone or claims supernatural results.
What happens to the name I give you?
It is written on the paper effigy, used in the ritual, and burned with it at the bridge. A copy stays in your private space so you can see what you ordered; once the ritual is done, "Burn the page" there erases it from our records forever, no questions. Payments run through Stripe; we never see your card.
Do I get an account?
A space, no password. After paying you land in it automatically; later, we email a 6-digit code to the address from your order. Inside: each ritual as it happens, a private notebook whose pages you can burn, the Jingzhe countdown, and a talisman to download when a villain has been dealt with.
Is the notebook really free?
Yes. Anyone can write and burn pages at /notebook without an account or a payment. It stores everything in your own browser and sends nothing to us; we could not read your pages if we wanted to. Sign into your space later and they can move in and sync across devices.
