What she actually does
The order matters. This is the sequence as it is performed under the flyover, not a version we invented.
- 請神
incense and red candles lit, the deities called to witness.
- 稟告
your slip and their name written onto the paper effigy.
- 過火
both papers passed through the flame.
- 打小人
the shoe. This is the part you came for.
- 祭白虎
the effigy fed to the paper tiger, pork fat and all, then burned.
- 化解
rice and five-colour beans scattered.
- 祈福
gold paper burned, allies asked for.
- 擲筊
moon blocks thrown. You see the result on camera, whatever it is.

Straight answers
Does it work?
No idea. The practitioners say the effect starts in about a week. What we can promise is that a woman in her seventies will hit a piece of paper with a shoe on your behalf, and you will have the footage.
Why first names only?
Because a video naming a real, identifiable person is a weapon, and we're not making one. Auntie refuses politicians for her own reasons; we refuse full names for ours.
Can I be there instead?
Yes, and you should. It's HK$50 at the stall, cash, no appointment. Canal Road Flyover, between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai MTR. We exist for the people who can't get here.
Who gets the money?
The practitioner is paid her full rate for every ritual, before we take anything.
